It is important to research the company you will be interviewing with to understand its mission and values. Be sure to research the company’s website, social media posts, and community presence to determine if you are a fit with the organization’s vision.

Review questions that are asked consistently in the Healthcare field, stay up to date with current changes in the field, and be prepared to explain why Healthcare is important to you. 

Understand the Job Responsibilities

It is important to reread the job description before your interview, to understand expectations, and prepare for any questions you may have. You can also use the description as a guide to expound on skills you have that the Company is looking for. 

Resume

Bring extra copies of your resume, notebook, pen.

Professional Dress

Plan a business professional outfit for your interview. Try to avoid bright colors and patterns to not distract the interviewer. Be sure your presence is neat, professional, and orderly. 

STAR Method

Use the STAR Method when answering interview questions; this method presents your relevant experience and skills to the Company in a clear and concise manner. You will describe the situation, the task or goal, how you achieve that goal, and the end result or what you learned from that situation.  

    • Situation: Describe the event or situation that you were in. 
    • Task: Explain the task you had to complete.
    • Action: Describe the specific actions you took to complete the task. 
    • Result: Close with the result of your efforts. 

Questions to the Company

Prepare questions that you have for the Company, this shows you are serious about the position, and want to know more about the Company. 

Next Steps

It is important to ask the interviewer about next steps so that you can know what you should expect. Ask about the hiring timeline, and if there will be a second interview if selected
